IV. Summary
Lesotho has improved safe access to water and sanitation dramatically. Sanitation went up from 7% in 2000 to 47.6% in 2020. Just being under 50% though, sanitation is still showing red on the progress map. The prevalence of stunting is decreasing but not at the required rate. Progress with anaemia, both for children and women in reproductive age, is flattening out the last decade. School completion by girls is very low. Exclusive breastfeeding went up strongly from 2000 onwards, reaching 66.9% in 2014. Latest data however suggest the rate is falling back.
