IV. Summary
The prevalence of stunting is gradually decreasing in Gambia, more so than in countries with a comparable average income. The rate needs to increase though to arrive at the 2025 target. This also applies to birthweight, wasting and aneamia for both children and women. School completion by girls improved but remains far below 50%. Safe access to water slowly increased. Contrary to most other countries though, access to sanitation worsened over the last two decades.
